Our Work

REP KC is a community empowerment network. We recognise that the voices of Kensington & Chelsea BME population are among the least heard by policy makers and by those who design and deliver services. Our aim is to empower the BME community through a process of engagement and consultation, rather than to rely upon assumptions and to take for granted the right to speak for the community. We believe that empowerment of BME communities is the right for minority populations to determine their own destinies and as such we believe in the importance of:

REP KC actively campaigns and promotes diversity, fairness, justice, equality of access and of opportunity. We aim to identify barriers to progress and illustrate the underlying causes of inequality. REP KC advocates for implementation including institutional change and tangible outcomes rather than good intentions.

'.....if we do not better negotiate race and ethnicity in our society, we will not adequately solve the problems of economic inequality and discrimination. Racial and/or ethnic divisions and competition shape our efforts to understand and challenge hierarchy and inequity. As long as we ignore those issues, we cannot solve the problems of poverty, unemployment, and crime, nor effect productive job creation and economic justice'. 1
