Current Projects:

REPKC provides assistance to the Kensington & Chelsea Police during critical incidents by providing community perspectives and helping to inform and reassure the community.

The Independent Advisory Committee meets monthly with Kensington & Chelsea police to discuss policing issues and related matters of concern to the community, support and assist them in implementing race relations legislation and offer community perspectives on policing issues and initiatives in the borough. REPKC is currently involved in the Carnival Gold Group and the Cannabis Group and, has attended activities linked to Operation Sabre (knife crime).

The Racial Incidents Task Group is open to our members and visits Notting Hill police station on a monthly basis to examine the handling of racist incidents. The group aims to foster confidence between the community and the police and so increase reporting of race crime. Members monitor the progress of reported cases and ensure action against the perpetrators and, share good practice and contacts to remedy any gaps in services for victims of racial harassment. The group receives initial and ongoing training. REP KC is currently also involved in Third Party Reporting project being established by Kensington & Chelsea Police.

Muslim Women's Voices Project

REP KC is currently undertaking a project in collaboration with Dalgarno Neighbourhood Trust on researching into Muslim women's experiences in the borough.

REP KC welcomes the interest of people with related experience to contribute to the group's work. Please contact us.
